Kim VanPelt
Kim VanPelt is Director, Arizona Health Futures. Prior to joining SLHI, Kim was a Regional Manager for First Things First, a state agency dedicated to improving the early care, education and health of young children in Arizona. In that position, Kim was responsible for overseeing more than $34 million in grants to local communities, including Phoenix. Kim also served as Director of Health Policy at Children’s Action Alliance, where she was responsible for leading state and local advocacy efforts related to children’s health coverage. She also acted as Strategic Planning and Quality Improvement Manager for the Arizona Department of Health Services for three years, and as an evaluator at the Arizona Office of the Auditor, reviewing the effectiveness of state programs for the Arizona Legislature.
Kim holds a Masters of Public Administration from the Nelson A. Rockefeller School of Public Affairs at the State University of New York at Albany. She also holds BA in Economics and a BA in History from Arizona State University.
